Blog Post #16 Film Opening Screenplay

Final Screenplay

Reflect and Revise

I think the glitchiness works well in my opening to keep a sense of mystery and suspense. I can hint at the conflict but not give away the entire plot of the film. I think the hardest thing to communicate visually is the relationship between my two main characters. Especially since I don’t want to fully show them yet, showing their dynamic visually is difficult. One change I made after creating an original draft was cutting down the length of the broadcast segment. I had planned in the beginning that the broadcast was going to take up around 70 percent of the opening because I wanted to show a lot of visuals about what specifically the crisis was, but I decided that it would be better to keep more mystery in what was happening.
